**CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE**

Statutory sick pay (SSP)

The government announced on Wednesday 4 March 2020 that all employees (or those treated as employees for Statutory Sick Pay) are entitled to payment from day 1 of sickness absence if the absence is in relation to the Coronavirus. This means that they will not have to meet the 4 day qualifying period. 

Once government has released more details about whether the eligibility criteria will change, we’ll update this section.
