Software Tester

Working for a worthwhile and established company, a new and interesting role now exists for a software tester. Typically, you’ll be involved in the following:

  • Ensuring software is tested and fit for purpose
  • Performing functional, regression, exploratory testing as needed
  • Reporting defects using JIRA to track bugs and lifecycle
  • Contribute to documentation of currently running/available services and products
  • Maintaining all testing documentation for current projects
  • Ensuring every project and product release is completely and robustly tested to the fullest extent possible.
  • Ensuring there is archived documentation of all testing processes for each release
  • Quality assurance for end product releases
  • Liaising consistently with the developer(s) and the project manager(s)

Suitable candidates will have a desire and aptitude for software testing. You’ll also have knowledge and experience in the following areas:

  • At least one year’s experience testing web applications
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate data including the use of formulas
  • Good knowledge of how database driven websites work
  • Knowledge of how mobile applications and API’s work
  • Experience in translating requirements and software applications to testing scripts
  • Ability to organise and report the test outcomes
  • Knowledge of test methodologies and standards
  • Communicate clearly and easily with a wide range of professionals
  • Methodical and logical approach to work
  • Work on own initiative
