IT Client Support Engineer

You love helping people, You love solving IT problems, You love seeing different people and enjoy driving to different sites to see people.

A new role is available with this Leading IT services company and MS Gold Partner. You will be responsible for solving a variety of IT issues on customer sites across the Midlands area with very occasional travel further afield.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in network and server administration, Installation and support, with particular emphasis on excellent customer service skills and being able to provide a secure, high-performance, reliable service to sophisticated and demanding users.

Ideally, you will have accumulated a host of skills in areas such as:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008/2008 R2
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003/2007/2010
  • Active Directory Configuration and Administration
  • Small Business Server 2003, 2008 & 2011
  • All Windows Desktop Operation Systems from XP to W8
  • Firewall Technologies and Configuration (ideally Watchguard or Cisco)
  • VPN Technologies
  • Trouble shooting and diagnostic experience via logs and reports
  • DHCP/DNS/WINS/TCPIP/GPO
  • Microsoft Office Applications 2003 to 2013

If you have secured any accreditation or formal training, that is going to be a distinct advantage.

This could include:

  • Educated to Microsoft MCSA/MCSE or equivalent accreditation
  • Citrix (ideally XenServer, XenApp or XenDesktop)
  • Hypervisor Technologies Hyper-V & VMware
  • Office 365
  • Microsoft Exchange 2013
